Watchnight Combine Choir Practice

Ho ho ho, Christmas is coming and hopefully you'll treasure the time and go spend them wisely with your family! After Christmas though, MYAF has requested a merger with us to sing in the Watchnight service choir. There will be a total of 4 practices, with the first practice being this Sunday at 3.00 p.m. in the chapel. Hope to see all of you there, it'll definitely be meaningful!

Also, for those you who are free this Sunday after 10.00 a.m. service you can opt to help the MYAFers to wrap Christmas presents for the Nepali Sengati Christmas Celebration (on Christmas day itself)! They will be wrapping the gifts in the MYF room so do go for it and bless a person this Christmas!

Christmas in Reverse Practice

Hey everyone,

For those who are involved with the Christmas in Reverse musical production, there will be a practice this Saturday from 3 - 5 p.m. in the church sanctuary. For others, there will be no MYF meeting so consider it a break for you. MYF Christmas Party 2011

Hey everyone!

Christmas is just around the corner... (Well almost, not exactly there we're still in November after all..) but I'm sure you're excited about it, and MYF is celebrating it earlier, so you can have an extended Christmas Celebration from now till Dec 26! So exciting.., here are just some reminders regarding the party to those who are coming:

- All guest are required to wear a T-shirt (all ladies please bring dark color T-shirt, tq) along with their swimming attires at the party. So please bring along an extra T-shirt and your swimming attires and your party clothes.

- For those carpooling from church, please be at church early at 5.00 p.m. sharp to avoid any delays.

- House rules will be given after arrival so please heed and obey them so we can have the party at the same place again ;]

- Remember, an offering will be taken at the party for the Shepherd's home project so don't forget to bring that too.

- Sleep well the day before and to enjoy and have fun in the party! ^^

Church Sanctuary Christmas Deco

Ahh... It's that time of the year again, it's THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!!! (don't you agree?)

Yup, as you've guessed it, it's Christmas time! Oh how I feel the warm and fuzzy atmosphere again, it's something I've longed for since December 26 last year...

Anyway, this Saturday we will be bringing the Christmas "cheer" to the church as we'll help to decorate the church sanctuary. Please note that the time is from 10.00 a.m. to 2 p.m. instead of the normal time and we'll be meeting in the MYF Room first before heading over to Sanctuary. If you're late, you know where to find us then..! Hope to see you all there.

Hey all!

All front rows are booked and movie tickets purchased for all MYFers at a low low price of RM0.00. We will be flooding the MYFCinemas this week for our meeting and watching "FlyWheel". The movie will start at 3.00 p.m.  so please come early and sit in front. Please note that the popcorn stand is currently unavailable at the premise and should be brought along yourself if you so desire. Advertisements (if screened at all) will not show you the latest movie trailers so if you're trying to catch the movie shown in the ad please take note of the date. Also, audio playback will not be 5.1 surround or higher as the cinema is facing financial difficulty acquiring such equipment.

After the movie we will meet together in prayer and then adjourn to the badminton court for a game of badminton. Hope to see all of you there.

Why World Communion - Pastor Buell

Hey everyone! I trust that everyone had a great time last week getting your hands dirty by doing the greeting cards. I'm sure those people who received it will most definitely be surprise and grateful... (who wouldn't?)

Now for this week we've caught hold of Pastor Buell to come and talk about World Communion and why? For those of you who don't know (initially I didn't too!), this Sunday happens to be World Communion Day, so what a better way to come and learn on it, so that we will get a better understanding while taking the World Communion in church service on Sunday. We'll be meeting in the MYF room at 3.00 p.m. and after the session we'll have a short prayer meeting session. And also do come as we'll be doing a different routine from our usual MYF meeting... Hey everyone! How was your week so far? It's been a while since we last have our meeting (last week was sleepover and the week before many didn't came...)

What happens when a student goes abroad to study?

KL Wesley has many youths who are abroad. MANY a times, they are sent there and alone. they would adapt to the new surroundings and Malaysia being a forgotten world behind. Let us remind them of an MYF who still remembers them, strengthening our ties to our youths abroad and show them God's love.

Here's something *special* different from the normal posts. We're planning on visiting GMC (Grace Methodist Church) Sentul MYF for their MYF Sunday. Details as follow:

Legacy Tree Walk <- No MYF!

Dear all,

Please note that there will be NO MYF this Saturday as most of us will be participating in the Legacy Tree Walk. The walk will be held at TTDI Taman Rimba Kiara at 7.30am. Only those who gave their names to Naomi earlier on will need to come.

So for those of you participating, please take care of yourself so you can have an enjoyable walk and quality fellowship time. If you have any difficulties getting to the place, do inform Naomi.

Facelift 3

The Saga Continues...

What will await our heroes & heroins as they work their way...

...towards the removal of their enemies which are unseen...

Proudly they will come and face the ultimate challenge...

...all for the sake of a better MYF room...

Yup, you got that right! Ever thought of days you spent in the MYF room when you felt that the air is as musty as old cans of bean and curtains that have never been washed for ages? It's time we get down to business!

We're going on to do Facelift this Saturday and all of you are coming to help us make MYF room a better place! Just come and spend some time with us this one Saturday and start cleanin' up.

The cleanup session will be in the MYF room but before that there will be a Combined Worship Session in the MPH at 3.00 p.m. so also come for that. Also we'll be discussing about what to do for MYF Sunday during the faceliftING session. Lastly, badminton session will go on after MYF room is FaceliftED.

My Experiences in Raub - by Elaine Kan

How did you spent your time at home last Saturday? Time sure flies and that's another Saturday past.

For those of you who don't know, the Senior Sunday School youths (together with Methodist Men) had recently gone on a mission trip to Raub to minister to the Sengoi People there from last Friday till Sunday.

Learning to Speak With Confidence - by William

Hey y'all!

How many of us often find ourselves in situations where it is we often get bogged down in our speech with others, hearing yourself say all the 'err', 'ahh', 'erm', 'hmm', 'what is that", etc.?

Or that certain factors have caused you to lose confidence in conveying a rather simple message?

Well look no further as we're getting someone to help you address that issue!

And so this Saturday, we're getting William to tell us how we can learn to speak with confidence! Sounds interesting isn't it?

Also William remarked that 'I'll be fun and you'll never know what hit ya'...

I have no idea about that, but seeing how surprising and dynamic William's sharing has always been, this will NOT be boring for sure!

This Saturday's meeting is all about walking down the path of the ancient by doing some basic hymn study... (and before you yawn, mind you the person sharing isn't that old himself!)

Ever have the perception that hymns are for old people only? And that they are slow and boring and almost impossible to keep up? Well, perhaps it's time for you to think twice as this session of sharing aims to challenge and change your perspective towards hymn singing!

Easter Cross Deco + Prayer Vigil

Hey y'all!

Once again we're tasked this year to decorate the Easter Cross for the Sunrise Service on Easter Day! So we need all the help we can get to come. We'll want to do things in a more efficient manner so we have decided to break into 2 teams for this activity. You can either come at

A) 1.30pm to church first before departure to flower picking place to pick flowers. Or...

B) 2.30pm to church and help with the preparation work of the cross

You are free to join either teams though the flower picking task does require more people. Please let us know on which team you're joining either on Facebook Kopitiam or email or other means applicable (Naomi reachable).

Eventually we'll or come back and decorate the cross together so now everyone's happily together again..!

After that, we'll proceed with our next activity which is the Prayer Vigil from 4.00pm to 5.00pm in the Church Sanctuary so don't go back immediately after Cross Deco ya.

Come join us for a more eventful experience while ushering the coming of Easter!

All u need to do is juz very simple: U need to call or just SMS will do to keep in touch with ur partner.. If you do not noe wat to ask, just ask my question posted will do..

Hope u all will take this accountability partner seriously as it will really nourish ur walk with God.

The Seder (Passover Celebration) - Rev. Yew

Hey all!

How have you all fair during this Lent season? Praise God for all who are fasting and praying during this time! Don't worry if your aren't, 'cause I'm sure you're seeking God in your very own way... (like coming to MYF ^^)

Anyway, here something that might interest you... We bring to you "The Seder" (meaning: order) or the or the service during the Passover Celebration. Besides being a Jewish Celebration ranging all the way from the times of the Old Testaments, it also reminds us Christians what Christ has done for all of us-To redeem us all from the slavery of sin and death through His death on the cross! You see... (According to an interesting book on Passover-not me!)

The Israelites painted on their door post the blood of the first-born lamb that they sacrificed so that the Angel of Death will spare them of their first-born's life during God's judgement over Egypt (Ex. 12:1-14). Similarly, through the blood of Jesus (the Lamb of God) on the cross (door post), God promises to pass us with His judgement of death as we are to stand under its protection...

How lovely and wonderful is that???

Of course there are other representations and meanings. So if you don't want to miss out on the opportunity, do attend this Saturday's Passover Feast conducted by our very own Rev. Yew. Easter Cross Making

Hello all!

We're going to make Easter Crosses (similar to those made last year) for sale. We need all the hands we could get hold of to complete our production line, so please come and help out! Whether you're a veteran or a newbie, you'll sure to find some satisfaction in making those cute little crosses (not to mention that you're doing this for a good cause)!

Also, do take note that this week there will be a combined worship service (BB/GB/MYF) in the MPH at 3.00 p.m. So after that only we'll run our little factory.

After all of that, please stay back a little while for our monthly prayer meeting.

Accountability Partner - by Bernard Ho

Dear MYFers,

You have been called to come and seek for your accountability partner come this Saturday. For those of you who don't know, an accountability partner is a person in which you have put in place to keep track of you... (we hope you're not too frightened about it) Sounds weir... interesting? Well come and hear for yourself its importance in your daily walk with Christ, you won't want to miss having a buddy!

We're meeting at 3pm in the MYF room. Please note that there will be NO combined worship as it has been postponed to the following week, so come straight to the room. After that we're going to have a short badminton session so bring your sports attires and rackets to play!

Car Wash For Sale (... nah it's voluntarily!)

Hey guys!

We'll be doing Rev. Yew, our new Senior Pastor a favor by helping him wash his car! Think of it as a welcome gift for him from us MYFers!

Anyway, do remember to bring the following useful items along:

1. Set of clothes to change

2. Cloth and car wash soap/detergent (if possible)

We will be meeting this Saturday from 3 p.m. - 5 pm. As for the venue, the car washing session will be take place at the car park near the canteen (you can't really wash his car in the MYF room, can you?). However, please proceed to the MYF room first at 3 p.m. for briefing (and maybe worship).

But anyway, whatever it is, hope to see you there!

MYF... MYF... MYF???

You've probably heard it before or seen it before in the church bulletin... But do you know why it exist, and for what purpose? "My journey with God" by Melody Yew

Hey all!

Come this Saturday to hear where God has brought Melody in her spiritual journey.

Presented by Melody herself, this session is sure to also inspire you to know about your own personal journey with God as you hear her side of the story.

But before that, please come for the combined worship session (MYF+GB+BB++) at 3.00 p.m. in the MPH. Then we'll move on to our main activity, the talk of the day!

After that, we'll have a badminton session so for those who want to play don't forget to bring your own rackets. We'll be playing at the MBS school badminton court.

There's a lot of things happening this Saturday so hope to see you there!

Happy Chinese New Year to All!!!

As of now some of you have probably ventured back to your respective family hometown and even had a nice reunion dinner. I'm sure more and more delicious CNY food are waiting for you in the days to come! But others who are not celebrating, you'll wanna come for our upcoming CNY steamboat dinner gathering (Of course some of you who still wanna continue celebrating can still come) ^^

Details of the gathering are listed below:

Date : 12th February, 2011

Time : 4.30 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.

Place : Catherine's House (in Ampang)

Contribution : RM 10 per head

Things to bring : Ladles for your own use

Please meet in church at 4.30 p.m. sharp so we can depart ASAP! The earlier we depart, the faster we can reach there, the quicker we can prepare the food...

For those who you who wants to go to Catherine's house yourself, kindly tell Naomi first... For the rest, please meet at church first and then from there we'll allocate the transportation accordingly.

For some of you, this maybe a time where you're just starting a new journey of life in college! For others, you may be going through it and may have already experienced a little or a lot of it.... Either way, you'll wanna come this Saturday and hear the various experiences from the MYFers themselves! Presented by Naomi, she will talk about various aspects in college life that may help you answer the questions above! For existing members, please come and support! We're also gonna have our monthly prayer meeting this week so do stay back after the session if you want to for a little time with God...

Broga Hill Trip

Hey guys!

Guess what? MYF is organizing a trip to climb the all popular BROGA HILL!!! Who's excited?

Anyway, details are shown below:

Date : 22nd January, 2011 (Saturday)

Time : 8.30a.m. - 1.00 p.m.

Venue : Church - Broga Hill

Useful things to bring: Umbrella, extra change of clothings, snacks (to share) & sufficient drinking water, sun lotion (opt), towel and anything else suitable! Be advised, please take care of all electronic/expensive items brought along while hiking. MYF will not be responsible for any missing items.

We're meeting in church at 8.30 a.m. and will proceed to leave church by 8.45 a.m. Please don't come late ya! Check back for more information or contact our president (contact info in church bulletin).

Badminton Tournament

Hey guys!

For those of you who have yet to know...

...we're going to have a BADMINTON TOURNAMENT in the next meeting!!! (Initial plan was bowling by the way...)

Here's a schedule for that day:

2.30pm - 2.45pm : meet in church

2.45pm - 3.00pm : walk down to Kota Raya badminton court

3.00pm - 5.00pm : reach the court and start playing

5.00pm onwards : go back to church

In short, please come at 2.30pm (30 minutes earlier) and we'll all go down to the public court and play badminton. Please also bring along your own badminton racket (not sure if can rent one there) and come dressed in proper sports attires (better not rent!).

This is a sporting session so do expect to sweat and/or feel tired after that, but it's not all too bad... You get the fun of mingling with MYFers and see their sporty side (well some, not all....) And it's a good chance for some to start playing badminton!

*UPDATE* For your information, the pricing for the court rental is RM6 per court per hour. We're renting 2 courts and it'll go on for 2 hours. Bernard had already booked the courts and total price is RM24. We will use MYF fund to pay for the rental of courts.

FIRST MYF MEETING OF THE YEAR!!!

Hey everyone! It's so great to reach another new year! Thank God for sparing our lives and allowing us to live till now!

Anyway, just want to tell you that we're going to have our first MYF Meeting this Saturday. Details are as follow:

Date : 8th January 2010
Time : 3.00 pm - 5.00 pm
Place : MYF Room (just above the church library, enter from the entrance near playground)

We would like to invite all new members to join us for this first meeting! Please come as we have an introduction session about MYF (you'll definitely do not want to miss it...)

We will also be conducting a farewell session for our two East Malaysia MYFers (Joyce and Jason).
