God-inspired sharings

Hi all,

1stly, I'd like to thank Mandy for her talk on the Blood of Christ, teaching us the value of the blood that cleanses us from all sins, and reminding us of the sure ground we shld stand on. For those of you'll who came for service last Sun, what Mandy shared had a lot of connection to the sermon, whereby assurance of forgiveness of sin is the 1st step of becoming children of God. Thanks once again Mandy for your sharing. Also want to thank Bernard who did a great job on sharing abt prayer, teaching us to talk to God. Look forward to the comin sharings from other MYF Committee members, and hope more of you'll can come and be blessed.

GBU,
Anu

Discipleship Campaign

Dear all,

have all of you sign up for it yet? Tmr is the LAST DAY!! *for those of you who aren't sure of what this is.. below is the explanation*

Just to inform that for those of you wants to join this campaign but dunno where to meet for fridays, Anusha is leading a group in Aunty Jenny Qua's house every friday starting from 27th Feb to 3rd April for youths at 8pm.

The campaign will start from tmr's sermon so please do sign up before the service and collect your book immidiately for we have to take down notes of the sermon in our books.

The Discipleship Campaign is a church wide campaign commencing from 22nd February 2009 – 4th March 2009 and leading to the Holy Week (40 days devotion), and all church members of KLWMC, worshippers and visitors of our church are encouraged to participate.
The focus areas of the Discipleship Campaign are:
1. Getting to know the Father
2. Conversations with God
3. Lordship as a Relationship
4. Disciple’s Learning
5. Disciple’s Lifestyle
6. Disciple’s Responsibility

A private daily devotion handbook will be provided to all who register and participants will be grouped into discussion groups for six Friday evenings from 27th Feb to 3rd April 2009. During this campaign, there will be no Small Group / Parish meetings to enable greater churchwide participation.

This is how the book goes..it starts with listening to the sermon on Sundays and taking notes of it, then do a personal devotion from mon to fri, then going to small groups which you have been assigned to.. to discuss on what you have learned. On sat, you will do a reflection on the whole week and on what you have discussed the day before in small group. Then it starts the cycle again on Sunday.

15Feb - 20Feb Daily Read

Thank you Bernard for reminding us why it is so important to pray. Not just pray for the sake of wishing God to do something, but to ...
Pray with Power, Faith, Purpose and Passion. Even if God knows already what's in our heart, but to commit to pray is also to come into the presence of God, acknowledging Him as Lord, humbling ourselves, and worshiping our maker. At the same time, thanksgiving, confession, petition and intercede for others.

Topic of study : "This is My Blood for your Sins"
This Saturday would be my turn to share, however to prepare everyone including myself for this topic. I humbly request that you take 5-15 minutes a day to read just this 1 chapter and take down notes along the way.

You may print the text version or simply read online. Bible verses are also given for easy reference. It is very convenient.
Normal Christian Life - Chapter 1 : The Blood of Christ by Watchman Nee (not to be mistaken for Watchmen comic)

Chapter 1 has 7 subtopics You will only need 45 min - 1 hour to read the whole chapter if you read the bible references too.

Suggestion of Reading Breakdown for this week and questions would be:
15 feb - Our Dual Problem: Sins and Sin & God’s Dual Remedy: The Blood and the Cross
Q1: Sin is a problem, what have been made known to man in Romans 1:18-20? Q2: Take time to look through the list of sinful desires which you are struggling with in Romans 1:21-32. Q3: What has the Blood of Christ done? Romans 3:25 & 5:9)

16 feb - The Problem Of Our Sins
(Q4: What does sin do to God and man?)

17 feb - The Blood Is Primarily For God
(Q5: Who values Blood?)

18 feb - God Is Satisfied
(Q6: Do you feel that the Blood of Christ is insufficient to be the repayment of the sins you have done? If yes, why?)

19 feb - The Blood And The Believer’s Access
(Q7: When you come before God is it based on the merits of what Jesus Christ has done on the cross or on the basis of attaining clear conscience?)

20 feb - Overcoming The Accuser
(Q8: What justifies us from the accuser before God? Hebrews 9:11-15)

We will be discussing some of these questions this saturday~!

btw, if you have more time. Do continue reading the whole book!
