The meeting started with a very interesting and unexpected intro.
A story was told about a bride-to-be who is very vibrant and cheerful, and a guy who was not her husband-to-be, a boring, simple, not attractive person. They both met during the preparation of the wedding, this boring guy fell in love at first sight of this bride-to-be. BTW he was there because he was her father's pupil.
The rest of the story would probably need you to get the movie from Anusha.
What's this got to do with living in God's word?
Have it ever cross your mind that you could possibly see God in another person? In other words, to see a glimpse of God's characteristics and quality in a human being on earth?
If a person is in Christ, he or she would be developing character of Christlikeness in them? Obviously that's one of the tangible fruit of a disciple continually being transformed by Christ.
Memory verse John 8:31-32
Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Isn't this a good enough reason to be serious about knowing who God is and what God has to say to us as we live our lives each day?
One of the ways of getting input of the word is through doing Quiet Time.
You probably have thoughts, yeah, this is the most standard answer u always hear. But what do you do with your Quiet Time? Do you know what other reasons having emphasising this discipline?
1. To know God through fellowship with Him (spending time with the master)
2. To receive direction and guidance for daily decisions (allowing God to work in us to change our will to His will)
3. To bring needs before God (this is vital, in a relationship, because God cares and loves you, he also wants you to trust Him with your needs and concerns)
4. To bear spiritual fruits (if you remember the previous memory verse, it was about abiding in Christ the vine in order to bear fruit)
This Saturday will be another fundamental discipline, we tend to take for granted or perhaps doing without even knowing why. Pray in faith.
I will throw in a thought, try completing the sentence below.
I pray because,______________________ (your answer)
Yours truly, Mandy

Brief Summary of Masterlife 1 - Spend Time With The Master

What does discipleship really mean?
Possible answers will be: studentship, follower-ship, apprenticeship, being obedient, being faithful, having to sacrifice something, surrendering, etc.
Christian discipleship is developing a personal, lifelong, obedient relationship with Jesus Christ in which He transforms your character into Christlikneness; changes your values into Kingdom values; and involves you in His mission in the home, the church, and the world.
Discipleship simply means putting God first before anything else, and having a personal relationship without any barriers in between.
Obedience is the key to discipleship which leads to two things.
1. knowing the commandments (knowing)
2. memorizing the scriptures (doing)
3 things which ensures us that we are abiding in Christ
- maintaining quiet time
- reading God's Word
- scripture memorizing
Memorizing scriptures will help us in times of temptation, trials, difficulty moments by remembering the promises and assurance from God.
Things to ponder for as we journey on this week..
1. Is God your first priority in life everyday?
2. Does God come into life only when problems arise? Do you seek Him both in big and small problems or only for the big ones, thinking that you should not be troubling Him and settle the small problems yourself?
3. Are you doing your quiet time daily because it is part of a "to do list" thing, or is it because you want to have a deeper relationship with Him?
memory verses for this week are Luke 9:23 and John 15:5.
*this post is open to questions, comments and even to those who wish to add more information about "Spend Time With The Master".*

Master Life comes to MYF!
Master Life has landed in MYF and this is a one-and-only chance to grab hold of it before it is too late!!
Master Life contains of 6 topics and it starts from 18th April (this saturday) till 30th May with a break in between with a movie night on 9th May and another break on 23rd May as it is the Church Camp period and the admission is FREE!!! (Does this sound convincing enough with breaks and the course is FOC?) *mind you, the Master Life sessions that the church provides does not have ANY in between breaks, it starts from 8am to 9.30am, and it charges a fee of RM 22 for the book!
Ms. Allana will kick start the Master Life sessions with the first topic, "Spend Time With The Master". Do come as we build a stronger foundation in our Rock and Redeemer as Ms. Allana touches on the following 4 points.
1) How is your soul?
2) Do you see yourself as a fruitful branch connected to the true Vine, our Lord Jesus?
3) Is it your desire to be so connected to Jesus and reap His promise of fruitfulness in your life?
4) The 6 things you must do.
See all of you this coming saturday at 3pm.

Our Mysterious Friends

Ever wondered what makes your friends tick (and even sometimes go BOOM!!!)..... or why is it that there's that special someone that makes you feel great or just rubs you the wrong way sometimes. You might think that it's all to do with chemistry, but what if it ain't the way u look or smell but how different people perceive and process information... hmmmm. Come by the MYF room this Saturday 4th April and learn more about yourself and how you perceive others or how others perceive you. Take a test to see what's your personality type :) and learn to appreciate how you and others are wired differently and how to handle each other with love and care.
FINSIHING STRONG INDEED!!!!
William's sharing on FINISHING STRONG indeed did literally finish strong. Although he had lost his voice and was not well, he shared at the 11th hour (with Ms. Allana's prodding), and indeed it was a worth every min........KUDOS to William for
blessing all fo us with his sharing. Indeed, it would spur many of us to persevere esp in tough circumstances knowing God has a purpose for us. Also, many thanks to Naomi for the CNY pics, and to Elaine Loh for her beuatiful write-up on our Xmas partu last year in Wesley Tidings. All praise and glory to God!!!!!!
